Academy of Art University Has More Than Just A Studio To Offer Its Students

The Academy of Art University is located in San Francisco, California. There are almost 14,000 students from various countries attending the college. Students attending the college have the ability to choose from several areas of study as well as the ability to earn a variety of degrees from an Associates of Art to a Master of Architecture.

The University recently attracted attention when one of its film students made a video in regards to his daily life at the Academy. He started his day around 9AM and filmed throughout the entirety of his day. This student allowed other students as well as prospective students the chance to look into the daily life of a college student. He also allowed others the chance to view the Commodore Dormitory, which was originally built in 1928 to offer merchant seaman a chance to sleep or relax. However, this is merely one of 15 facilities that the University offers for student housing.

His film allowed prospective students to see just how the public transport system in downtown San Francisco works. With just the flash of his student identification, he was free to travel to any of the campus locations at no cost. He also shared his love for the University as well as the excitement the city has to offer. He made his film in hopes that other students would have the chance to choose a school that is right for them before deciding on a final choice. According to the student who made the video, he is completely satisfied with his choice of school, and he truly appreciates the uniqueness that the school has to offer.

In 2017, CBL sold 20 million shares valued at $65 million. The shares represent 8.5% of the company’s issued capital. The sell was made to boost share market liquidity. The shares were sold for AU$3.00 per share. This is an 11% discount from the previous price of AU$3.35. CBL’s managing director at the time, Peter Harris, sold five million shares; the senior management sold 9.6 million, and deputy chairman Alistair Hutchinson sold 5.5 million shares. The shares were sold to a variety of Australian and New Zealand investors. CBL was founded in 2012 and specializes in reinsurance services. The companies services include brokerage services, property deposits, underwriting, rental guarantee bonds, and income protection. CBL provides its services to customers across the globe. Peter Harris received his master’s degree from the University of Auckland Business School. He started with CBL in 2007. Peter was instrumental in the success of CBL. He is also a board member of 25 other companies, The New Zealand Institute of Management, and the Australian Graduate School of Management. The Academy of Art University Sees its 21st Year at New York Fashion Week

New York Fashion Week is one of the most popular events in the world. It started in 1943 and was known as “Press Week”. It has evolved over the decades to be one of the most iconic events for fashion designers and designer hopefuls all over the world.

 The School of Fashion at the Academy of Art University has participated in New York Fashion Week for 21 years successful years. On September 9th, 2017 at the Skylight Clarkson Square, ten students from the school showcased their collections down the runway. The students, some of whom were from the M.F.A. program and others from the B.F.A. program, collaborated to present five collections that impressed the audience, which included people such as Sara Kozlowski and Ms. J Alexander. With the students being from so many diverse backgrounds, the collections were unique, creative, and inspirational.

The Academy of Art University, located in San Francisco, California, was founded in 1929 by Richard and Ciara Stephens. The school has continued to be lead by the Stephens family over the years, with Richard Stephens Jr. taking over as President in 1951, and then his granddaughter taking over as president in 1992. The original school started with 45 students and limited courses but now has an enrollment of over 14,000 students and offers a B.F.A degree as well as an M.F.A. degree. In 1985, the school earned its first accreditation by National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD) and is now also accredited by the following organizations:

Overview of educational platform ClassDojo

ClassDojo is an application that was created by Sam Chaudhary and Liam Don in 2011. Their mission is to help teachers connect with students and their parents through the software. ClassDojo allows students to learn more skills and uses a reward system where points are awarded for good behavior. The platform can be launched on laptops, cellular phones, tablets, or computers.

A fact from a Forbes profile states that one of the founders even dropped out of acquiring his PhD in computer science to work for full-time in the company. ClassDojo is based out of San Francisco, California, and they are available in over 180 countries as 95% of pre-K schools in the US use the application, according to an article from PR Newswire. In other news, the article from February of 2019 lists that they were able to acquire $35 million in funding, which accumulated to $65 million total. ClassDojo set out with the mission to improve the education system and make learning fun for young children.

One of the co-founders, and the CEO describes how education is an experience rather than an item like a Tesla or iPhone. Sam Chaudhary shares how they took in feedback from teachers, parents, and families to improve their system. Since then, the application has now been used all around the world at schools. Some teachers have described that ClassDojo has made their life much easier and made learning entertaining. Liam Don, one of the other founders of ClassDojo, stated how their plan is to create the best education platform for students, teachers, and families.

Dick DeVos’ Life Reveals Successes

Have you ever seen Dick DeVos on the news? He’s recently joined the FAA’s new Management Advisory Council. This new civilian council was formed to help the FAA in an advisory position only. This means that the members provide advice through experience. Members include former transportation officials and former executives of airlines. However, Dick DeVos was also nominated to the council in 2017.


For the past two years, DeVos has been working with the FAA on new plans for airport technology in the US. In his early election speeches, Trump criticized America’s airports for falling behind foreign markets. One of the main points was that technology and security had fallen behind, and many of the same conveniences at other airports were not available in America. What happened? America was the birthplace of aviation.


DeVos is a passionate aviator, and he has co-founded pilot training schools to help teach others about aviation. In addition, his background in business has merged together with airports and airlines to form a great business opportunity that helps airports expand. He used this strategy with the airport in Grand Rapids.


In the 1990s, Grand Rapids was having issues with poor economy and businesses leaving the downtown area to go to other bigger cities. However, all of Michigan at the time was in an upheaval over manufacturing plants leaving the state. DeVos began to work with business leaders in Michigan hoping to make changes to Grand Rapids and grow it into a bigger metropolis that could help itself.


DeVos started by founding a convention center, performance hall, and a sports arena in downtown near the old business district. Business leaders found that they were able to get more business after DeVos began to bring people to the area through these new attractions, especially business travelers attending conferences and conventions.


In the early 2000s, DeVos progressed this plan by talking to the CEO of the nearby Grand Rapids airport. The new airport would be called the Gerald R. Ford International Airport, and it would have more destinations. This was all thanks to Dick DeVos, who worked closely with the AirTran Airways airline in the early 2000s. The airline agreed to open up new destinations to major cities where business travelers were headed to, such as Las Vegas, Orlando, St. Louis, and Denver.


DeVos is now using his knowledge of how the airline and airport industries can work together to increase ticket sales and help fund expansions into new technologies. Currently the Grand Rapids airport has millions of passengers compared to their stagnant growth throughout the 1990s.


With new plans for a GSO Tower, DeVos has advised the FAA on how to raise money just like he did for the Grand Rapids airport with the Gateway Transformation Project.

Academy of Art University Helps Students Resume Their Art Education

Recently, there have been many students who have had their education put on hold. The United States Department of Education cut funding for an entire system of colleges in February of 2019. This was done due to the owners of a college system Dream Center Education Holdings, failed to reorganize when requesting receivership. When the college system closed down, there were 22 college campuses of art institutions that ceased to exist beginning in March of 2019. Since these colleges failed to convert to a non profit entity, they were automatically shut down. The Academy of Art University has offered to help the students complete their degree program. With their assistance, all students who are looking to get their degree will be able to resume their education as long as they provide records of their college credits.

What is Betsy DeVos Saying About Trump Now?

Education Secretary Betsy DeVos can’t seem to shake the critics. Most recently she was in an interview where she stated that education hasn’t been at the list of President Trump’s priorities. Howeve, she explains that he has been supportive of all the work that they have done while she has been in office. Earlier in 2019, DeVos toured with First Lady Melania Trump. They visited charter schools in Miami and throughout the state.


Florida is one of the few states that Betsy DeVos calls a success when it comes to educational choice. In the Sunshine State, students are able to apply and get a scholarship based on tuition to any school of their choice. However, they may apply and get approved before they are able to receive these funds. Who’s paying for these programs? DeVos states that it’s philanthropy and donors that have supported the educational choice movement in America.


Donors like Mark Zuckerberg, Sam Walton, and Bill Gates have contributed greatly to her campaign. She has stated that all of the money goes towards putting students’ needs first. While it’s been difficult to get critics on board, DeVos has never wavered. She believes that students have a choice and should be able to pick where they want to go to school. Most of the time, DeVos said that students have to go to schools where they are zoned, but this can lead to serious development and educational growth problems.


Students who are in failing schools don’t have the same support as other school programs, and DeVos wants to change that. However, her first order is to give students relief from schools that are stuck in the past and haven’t improve their administration for over two decades. DeVos is looking towards the future and believes that students should be bale to do the same when it comes to picking a school where they want to learn.


She believes that by placing students first and offering programs to help them get the funding for school that students will have the most opportunities. Currently, many students are stuck in a curriculum that is heavily based on common core and standardized testing. Even with current reports showing an improvement in test scores, DeVos wants students to have the ability to choose a different curriculum than one forced upon them based on zoning codes.


DeVos has also had significant trouble when it comes to school safety reform. students have been dealing with gun violence in America for many years, but DeVos is looking to change all of that by placing students first and finding policies that protect students. She doesn’t believe in the idea that more guns should be on campus, but it could be necessary depending on how campus guardians will work.

Dick DeVos Saves the Decade in Grand Rapids

For many years, Grand Rapids suffered economic setbacks in the 1990s. At this time, many of the factories were leaving the state, and it was causing a depression across Michigan. However, western Michigan was supported by the DeVos family, who worked with businesses in the area to build up the city instead of letting it fall.


While Detroit continued to suffer economic problems, Grand Rapids was rising out of the muck thanks to Dick DeVos. As the son of the Amway co-founder Richard DeVos, Dick had always been legendary when it came to business, and he worked hard to help business leaders in the area throughout the 1990s. He even joined a group called Grand Action to help make the city better.


With funding from DeVos, many new buildings were constructed in the downtown area to promote commerce and traffic. This would include the DeVos Performance Hall, DeVos Place Convention Center, and Andel Arean. While the thinking was that these buildings would bring in new business, it wasn’t set in stone that this would actually happen. DeVos only knew that he had a plan to bring in more traffic to the city.


The next phase involved the nearby airport. Western Michigan had always had a small executive airport since the early 1900s, but DeVos wanted to do something more with the airport. He wanted to turn it into a business traveler’s paradise and upgrade its technology. He wanted to see it expand and gain more ticket sales than any other nearby airport.


So how was he going to do that?


The answer and strategy have made Dick DeVos a legend. He called up the CEO of AirTran Airways on the phone and simply asked if he would add more flights to the airline’s terminals at the small Grand Rapids airport. It was slow at first to build, but the ticket sales grew once those flights were added. The airport was finally doing business, and it wasn’t going to go bankrupt now.


The airport would continue to expand and even received $45 million in funding for new technology and a business center. These actions would also get DeVos appointed to the FAA’s new Management Advisory Council, where he would work with the FAA on new policies, budget planning, regulations, and other ideas for growth. His appointment was praised by those in the aviation industry simply because of what he did in Grand Rapids.
