To be a pediatric surgeon is an achievable goal, but to be a pediatric surgeon with two inventions and several advanced surgical procedures requires not only passion but also dedication. Dr. Saad Saad is a doctor located in the Eatontown, who has been practicing for forty-two years. He is committed to his work and has made it his duty to help develop new surgery methods to reduce pain and risk to his patients. Through continued efforts and experimentations, Dr. Saad has come up with many pediatric surgical procedures two inventions which are more efficient and effective for use in surgery.
Dr. Saad Saad’s first invention is the use of Integral Electromagnetic Location Identification Device to identify catheter in the body. Medical catheters are tubes which in the past have been used to aid in surgery or offer treatment through insertion in the body. Some are left in the body while others have to are taken off after performing the required task. Catheters should be placed at the right place to be of use and in most cases, X-rays are used to view whether they are at the right place. The radiations from the X-rays may be harmful therefore doctors suggested the use of Magnetic Resonance Imaging; however, this did not solve all the solutions since the Magnetic Resonance, and Imaging devices are large and not easily transported. The other method employed is the use of guide wires by inserting them in the patient which is not advisable since the wires can break while inside becoming perilous. Dr. Saad came up with the device which helps locate the catheters without necessarily using any machine scan. The medical device works like a metal detector since it searches from outside and it is small and easily carried hence practical for use even in the Intensive Care Unit during emergencies that do not allow scanning of the patient for catheters identification.
His second invention is improved use of the endoscope. Endoscopes are used to take visual pictures for use by the doctors on the functioning of the internal body organs without a scan or surgery. In the current endoscopes the liquid in the body reduces the visibility of the pictures by fogging the lens; hence Dr. Saad came up with the inclusion of the suction-irrigation device in the endoscope to help make the view unobstructed. The suction-irrigation will enable the doctors to suck liquids preventing them from getting clear pictures without removing the endoscope, and it can be used to pour fluid to clean the area around the scope. This invention has made the work easier and faster. Dr. Saad inventions help reduce complications during and after treatment. He believes in the relationship between technology and medicine which will make work efficient and effective and he, therefore, hopes through continuous use of his knowledge he will radically change the health system.Learn more: https://angel.co/saad-saad-2
