Dr. David Samadi: Dedicated to Patient Care and Educating the Public

Dr. David Samadi is a distinguished medical expert and the present Chairman of Urology and Chief of Robotic surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City. As a renowned board-certified urologist and oncologist who specializes in advanced minimally invasive treatments for prostate cancer, his medical achievements and devotion to patients’ care and well-being has named him in the prestigious Castle Connoly America’s Top Doctors and New York Magazine’s Best Doctor’s List.Dr. David Samadi was born in Iran and raised in a Jewish upbringing. At age 15 he left Iran with his brother and spent time in Belgium and London before completing school in Roslyn, NY. He graduated from State University at Stony Brooke with a degree in biochemistry and then went on to achieve M.D. in 1994.

After completing his fellowship in proctology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in 2001, he moved to France to begin robotic radical prostatectomy at Henri Mondor Hospital. He was named Vice Chair of the Department of Urology in 2007 at Mt. Sinai School of Medicine. His team now resides at Lenox Hill Hospital.  After gaining years of experience performing robotic prostate surgery, Dr. Samadi developed the SMART (Samadi Modified Advanced Robotic Technique) surgery, a minimally invasive surgery that robotically removes cancerous prostates.

SMART surgery takes less than 90 minutes and allows patients to recover quicker and with fewer complications than other methods. Dr. Samadi performs every surgery from start to finish and is dedicated to the overall well-being of his patients from the moment they enter his office through surgery and recovery. Dr. David Samadi also dedicates his time to educating the public. In the Summer of 2017, he launched DrSamadiTV, which airs on Sundays at 12:30 pm EST and discusses a wide array of health topics and features medical experts from around world. Through his social media presence, he provides daily health tips and disease prevention and awareness reaching nearly 55k followers on Twitter and over 500k followers on Facebook.
